Description
Tatev is a medieval fortified monastery and former university located in southern Armenia, renowned for its historical scholars. Due to its remote location, the 'Wings of Tatev' cable car was built to provide access. This cable car is the longest reversible aerial tramway in one section and holds the Guinness World Record for the longest non-stop double track cable car. Visitors can optionally ride over the canyon of Halidzor and the Tatev desert.
Nearby Shaki Waterfall, situated on the Vorotan River gorge near Sisian, cascades 18 meters over basalt slopes. It is one of Armenia's most prominent waterfalls.
The tour concludes at Areni village, Armenia’s winemaking center, offering the chance to sample local homemade wines where wine was first created.
