Description
Your tour begins with a pickup from your accommodation in Cairo or Giza by a professional guide. The Monument to the Unknown Soldier is a pyramid-shaped memorial in Nasr City honoring Egyptians who died in the War of Attrition and the October 1973 War. It was designed by Sami Rafie on orders from former President Anwar Sadat, who was later buried there after his assassination in 1981.
Al-Fishawi Cafe, founded in 1797 in the Al-Azhar area, is one of Cairo’s oldest coffeehouses. It gained literary fame through Egyptian author Naguib Mahfouz, who wrote early works there. The cafe has long been a meeting place for writers, artists, and locals.
Al-Moez Street forms the heart of Cairo’s historic district and serves as an open-air museum of Islamic architecture. The street runs from Bab El Fottoh to Bab Zuwaila, featuring significant mosques and schools such as Barqouq Mosque, El Aqmar Mosque, and the Mosque of El Saleh Tale. This area contains one of the largest collections of medieval Islamic architectural treasures in the world.
