Sharm El Sheikh isn’t the first place you'd think of for sushi, right? But trust me, the city has quietly built a small but solid sushi scene that locals and expats really appreciate.

If you’re staying near Naama Bay, you’ll find several sushi places where the fish tastes fresh, and the chefs know their way around a roll. I’m a big fan of Fares Seafood’s sushi platters,simple, well made, and never overly fancy. It’s not just about fancy presentation here, it’s about fresh ingredients and balanced flavors.

Over in Hadaba, Fusion Sushi caught my eye the last time I was there. Their spicy tuna roll hits just the right spot, especially on a cool evening by the beach. And FYI, sushi prices here tend to be more wallet-friendly than you’d expect in a resort town.

A quick tip: ask if they have the catch of the day or special rolls with local seafood. Some evenings you might get a surprise with freshly grilled or raw shrimp and fish directly from the Red Sea. You won’t regret trying those, especially if you like your sushi with a little local twist. Also, sushi here pairs surprisingly well with a cold Stella or a light Egyptian white wine, so don’t shy away from trying that combo.
